NEED HELP! As part of rebuilding my calipers I split them so as to clean out the "innards" better. Unfortunately I have lost 3 out of the 4 tiny rubber seals that go in the middle. The seals are smaller than a dime and are needed to properly attach both halves of the caliper. My request to anyone who wishes to do a good deed for a fellow backyard mechanic: If anyone is trading in a set of calipers as cores or has a way of getting the little seals I would REALLY APPRECIATE if someone would send me these little suckers!
![]() I'd be willing to return the favor in some way or maybe just via good karma - which this msg board seems to have an abundant amount of... PUH-LEASE! Pete

Hmm...I think if you do a search on the archives you will find that GPR or someone carries a rebuild kit that has those seals. As far as I remember PP does not carry them. That does not mean that you should not call them to ask...hey, it is a toll free number unlike some others.

I just noticed that these are for the BMW calipers... Give Pelican's sales department a call and tell them you need the seals for a caliper off of whatever year and model of BMW it is. Chances are they can get it for you.

Dave & JB - Thx for the reply, I've been scratching my head over this one for a while. Dave - I actually bought the rebuild kits from PP , they did'nt come w/the tiny seals b/c most (read smarter than me) people don't split the calipers. I'm about a half hour too late in calling PP today - will make sure to follow up tomorrow. Many thanks again.

FWIW, the seals are easy!!! Someone let me know when they find a set of pistons for these calipers!!! One of my calipers has some pitting in the chrome on both pistons. I believe that is why the car is pulling the other way under braking. The seals are available from GPR, sounds like PP and even the dealer. My best parts guy in town was stumped on the pistons!!!

Unfortunately, without a part number PP is unable to locate the part.
![]() JB - I have a pair of left over pistons from a caliper I did'nt rebuild, if you have 3 of the tiny seals I'd be willing to do an even trade for the pistons (they are not perfect but its worth a try...). I've never heard of GPR. Do you have a website address? I suppose as a last resort I could fabricate a seal but I'd rather have one that is made for the exact purpose... Thanks - Pete
