How to access E30 Door Lock Actuator?
I'm planning to (try to) replace the Front/Left Door Lock Actuator (Pelican Parts - Product Information: 51-26-1-372-594-M9) on my '89 E30 Sedan.
AFter peeling off the door trim, I see the screws that attach the unit to the inside of the door, but ... ... how do I actually get to the unit? The only sizable 'port' in the door is blocked (for my normal-human-being-sized hands ...) by the large gear assembly and motor for the PowerWindow mechanism. Is there some trick, or access method, to get at the actuator (I need to detach cables, connector rods, etc ...), or do I have to detach/remove the PowerWindow assembly? ![]() Thanks for any pointers! |

The window regulator has to come out of the door. Sorry to tell you.

As for removing the window regulate ... I'm off to dig on this site. Do you know of any good Tutorial/HowTo guides for getting that done? Thanks! |
