Hi, I would like to tighten the catches on my 1994 e36 canvas roof. I understand that I need to tighten the screws on the rods to adjust their length....is there a way to tighten the rods without taking the entire thing apart? The rods appear to be ball and socket. I have the Bentley manual which tells you what needs to be done here, but not how. Many thanks for any advice.

You will have to pull the front of top apart to access the locking mechanism.
