Code 1216 Troubleshooting

I recently rebuilt the S52 motor in my e34. Everything has been going as planned since startup and break-in, however I keep getting the 1216 code (stomp test and peake r5). I have replaced the throttle position sensor.

The CEL will activate, and poor throttle response will occur, when the car is idling for about 30-60 seconds without some throttle manipulation. Meaning; I must nudge the gas pedal every several seconds of else the CEL will activate.

Items I have considered that might cause this condition are O2 sensor and/or ICV failure, but they should be identified separately from the DME coding. What am I missing?

I am looking for additional troubleshooting recommendations.

Thanks,
Steve

...and the CEL will go away after an engine restart.
