Coolant Temp Sensor Easy Replacement

I've been shoring up the 1999 108K E36M52 328i Conv cooling system and any top end leaks. Service manual/Haynes description of ECT replacement way too involved..ei.e."remove intake manifold". Once I removed the top cover the sensor is clearly visible. I don't know irf anyone else has done this but I vaguely remember reading about using an extension so not my idea but one tool I discovered made this fix-it turn out easy. Hopr these pics help...
1. Removed air box...oil filter cap and fan cover...disconnect oil supply to Vanos

2. Sensor is 22mm/7/8 and a deep socket will fit . There is only enough room but using this 90 degree esxtension was sweet. ou will lose some coolant removing so drain system some.
3.Easy to back out and install is reverse...torg like a spark plug about 180in-lbs. Replace oil feed with new aluminum gaskets...torg to 32in-lbs

the tool
