No start and stalling issue

First off, This is my first post here. Hoping to solve some issues. Ive tried using the search function but either it doesnt work or nothing has been posted for this issue(which i doubt). Mechanics wont even bother looking at it as it happens too randomly and the only time that they could possibly diagnose it is as it happening. So, here i am chasing my tail. So here it goes...

Here are the symptoms.
Randomly will not start. It will crank over non stop for a few min then after a bit it will start normally. It also stalls randomly, and after it stalls, its back to the no start issues i described earlier. Once while on the freeway is stalled, and then as i was coasting off to the side of the road it just started back up again. Generally though, if it stalls, its out for a solid minute or two. But its happening more frequently and its starting to get annoying.

Ive been having a no stalling and no start issue since i got the car about a year ago. The trouble is that every time i go to diagnose it, it will start running again. So far ive been able to deduce that i have no spark when this issue is occuring. But, half way though that, i get a nice little jolt and it fires right up. I havent been able to tell if the fuel pump is working because i dont hear it when its running fine either, but since there is no spark, im sure there likely is no fuel either.
Ive replaced the coil and fuel pump relay. I have the main relay on its way, and the reason i changed these is that i figured they would cause issues down the road anyway, why not go new now.

My question is, can a dirty crank trigger sensor cause such an issue? My valvecover gasket is leaking and that general area is pretty oily(valve cover gasket is on its way as well). I checked fault codes today(ridiculously easy, thanks bmw) and i got 1233 which is "Throttle Wide Open Throttle Switch". I wouldnt think that this would cause this issue, but i could be wrong.

Any advice would be much appreciated.
