This gets me wondering. My 94 E36 has 190k miles on it but idles and runs smooth, just not much power. Granted its hot here, but could an old perhaps original cause low power with no other symptons? Car passed emission fine as well.

I would think you would have a check engine light if the o2 was faulty enough to cause a druvability issue.
