standard equipment on 1989 325is
Hi
I am negotiating with my insurance company to assess the value of my 1989 325is (which sadly gave it life to save mine in a rather unpleasant encounter with a speeding Buick), and I am having trouble proving that the car had ABS on it. Does anyone know of relatively unbiased documentation that ABS was indeed standard on those cars? Thanks in advance, Gene |

Very easy to prove.
Simply get a CARFAX report. I know if you go to roadfly.com, then enter their E30 message board. Many times if you simply ask, there is a guy there that can provide you with a report. FYI all E30's came with ABS standard. |

abs on 325i
Hi Gene:
All BMW's sold in North America since 1984 had abs. It was one of the main selling points. Also, if there is anything left of your car, you should be able to see the difference in the master cyl. Also, your fuse block(if its left) will have a fuse for the abs. take care |

Also, any Car and Driver reports from the time period will document this as well...

Right - if you still have the car, you can take a photo of the ABS controller.

Hey, here's a tip. If you go to www.kbb.com (Kelly Blue Book), and lookup your year car, then they say it has ABS as a standard feature.
