325i cluster lights refuse to work still

I'm new to the forums, and I was hoping someone could help me out with some electrical issues I'm having.

As the title suggests, I am having issues with the cluster lights. I'm not talking about the indicator lights (they do work) but the lights that lit the, tachometer-speedometer-fuel gauge, etc. Turning signals, warning lights, and all those work just fine.

The lights on the center console, around the radio and HVAC controls don't work either. The radio turns on, but no audio.

I have done the following in an attempt to fix it, but cluster lights still refuse to work:

*Replaced main light bulbs
*Checked fuses, and all seem to be ok (but I will be replacing all fuses just in case)
*Visually inspected light switch/knob dimmer rheostat but could not find any evident issue with it.

I am at a loss here. Could someone recommend what I should do next before I take it to the shop? I'd appreciate any help!

Thank you

What year is your 325i? E46? E90?

Hi Dmitry,

Thanks for the reply. Sorry, I forgot to add that info. The car is a 91 (E30) model, convertible.

Check out the link below to one of our site's DIY tech articles. It'll help you troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the electrical issue. Best of luck!

Thanks Dmitry. I think I may have the board wires broken or something, so I'm going to take the cluster apart and see what's the issue.

Appreciated
