Well, the 924 was my cousin's, about a 1987 or so, with maybe 120k on it. My 944 is a 1989, 65k or so, and it has the largest motor in the 944 NA line. That said, aside from my preference for my interior and the look of the flares, my 944 has much tighter handling, crisper shifting and a LOT more bottom end. Some of that stuff you could attribute to her car being more worn, but regardless of the cause for me her car just wasn't as much fun to drive. She actually agreed.....but my car is also worth more than twice the cost of her 924, so in terms of "bang for the buck" she definitely has me beat. Some parts for the 89 944 are also hard to get/expensive, since the car was has many components (motor, exhaust, the hose from the clutch master to clutch slave, etc.) not found on the 88.
