I'm still considering if the factory plates (between the rotors and the middle of the car) are needed. I've read in posts for other brands of car that those guys remove them to increase brake cooling. The plate keeps road stuff from getting into the rotors and pads but they also trap heat.

Has anyone else deleted them and what was the trade off?
