If you're just replacing the diff, then you don't necessarily need to adjust the pinion, although checking it is recommended.
You'll need to check and probably re-set the differential bearing preloads and the ring gear backlash.
Are you sure the replacement differential is compatible with this transmission?
You should review the differential & final drive section of the factory 930/ Turbo Carrera workshop manual, to give yourself a better idea of what's involved.
