Squeeze in this direction with pliers or channel lock suckas. Then the top of the spring will lower and you can pull it outwards. Rotate the spring downwards and BOOM! Pads are now free to come out. You can remove the spring if you want by compressing the two lower legs together.

P.S. I tell you to do a caliper refresh but after I did mine you might want to NOT do that!!
