Nice find! Have fun with rebuilding it to its former glory. If you got it for a song, that's even better.
I just started to rebuild mine. It is a 2002 R1100S Boxer Cup Prep I bought it from the first owner in 2010. I rode it for a couple of years until I got an 2012 R1200GS Adventure. It has basically sat since. I moved to my new location in 2014 and rode it from the moving truck to the underground garage of my apartment where it sat until I moved into my new home last year. I sold my GSA in 2015 so I have not ridden in a while and want to fix mine up and get back into riding. I have 55k miles on the Boxer Cup Prep.
I took the tupperware off of it earlier this week and removed the battery. It was all swollen and ruined; luckily it was not leaking. Since I had to remove all of the gasoline to move it back in 2014 and it has not had gas in it since, I plan to replace all of the gas tank internals (fuel pump, filter, fuel lines) and all of the external fuel lines before putting it back in service. I will also start to assemble the parts needed to replace the clutch, but I will wait until next winter to do that unless it is absolutely necessary. I have an HID headlight out so I'll need to get a new module for it. I have a broken rear turn signal that needs replaced. I have a new one ready to install. I'll need to get new tires, new brake lines, do a complete brake fluid flush, oil change, rear seals were replaced in 2012 but I'll need to change the fluid again, and I'm sure I'll find more as I tear into it.
I am hoping to be able to ride it this summer, so here's to the project.
