It is a slippery slope. Yea, when a "star" player is bringing in more fans and the school is making millions MORE off of that one player, he really should get a piece of the pie. What about the multitudes of mostly bench warmers and third string players, do they get paid?
It will almost instantly become a bidding war like the NFL for top players and signing bonuses and only the big schools will have a chance. Alabama already has a training center that is better than most NFL teams. Any player would prefer that facility to a typical school gym and some free weights.
I see both points of view, and I am real glad I am not the one that has to figure out what is fair distribution of money for fans to watch other people play a game with a ball.
