When I bought my 914 I asked the dealership where I bought it about the Porsche club of America and he acted like I asked him where the bigfoot club was. With no internet, there was no way to find PCA in 1974.
I joined the SCCA back then and started autocrossing (C-stock and then A-stock) and finally met someone that knew about PCA. I dropped SCCA back in the 70s.
My wife drove several Mercedes so we joined the local Mercedes club for many years and met some great people. We dropped that after 20 years when she sold the Merc.
We had a local group of very handsome, super smart and very modest men that all drove El Camino's that met for breakfast once a month. It was just a local group and no national affiliations. That just fell apart after several years when several key members died or had health issues.
So the list.
SCCA: 1974 914 2.0
PCA: 1974 914 2.0; 1985 911; 2017 Macan
MBCA: 190E; 280SE; E320
Breakfast club for El Camino guys. (No real club name) 1986 El Camino
The only one I still belong to is PCA. 45 years and counting.
