You don't need bleed bottles for gravity bleeding. I only used it once, because I had had the car all apart, MC replaced with the power brake system, etc. Car up on jack stands in garage while I was finish sanding new paint, etc. I hooked clear plastic tubes to each bleeder once the brake system was reassembled, and ran all four up above the level of the MC reservoir and attached them so they wouldn't fall down. I don't recall details of filling the reservoir - must have done a little filling and refilling. Left it over night. In morning, fluid was up at reservoir level in each tube. All done. Brake pedal solid.
But yes, pressure or pedal bleed for routine stuff seems quicker. And the one way bleeders remove the necessity for a helper. Helper is more economical of fluid, though.
A quick bleed at a track, for instance, can be done by pulling a tire, levering a brake pad, opening the bleeder quickly to spit just a bit of fluid, and tightening the bleeder again. If there was a small pesky bubble in the caliper, this might get rid of it.
