You're a gentleman for considering a 944 for your wife, however, for "my" wife, I decided against it. I have a '84 and I would rather not see her driving it because I've observed her driving habits over the years, and I've seen her reaching for her purse and the cell phone. In a 944 if you reach too far you'll turn the wheel just a little bit, and at speed, that can put you into the weeds faster than you can blink an eye. Therefore she stays in the Volvo 850, which has a far less sensitive steering response, and is a safer car for her (poor) driving habits.
