I don't believe the HUbb filter does bypass in the conventional sense. There is an internal bypass but I believe it filters every drop of oil passing through it. The bypass is from a very fine filtration [around 5microns]to a slightly larger particles 25 microns @ 99% efficiency. According to reported testing, paper filters treat 25 micron particles @ 52% efficiency.
