It's mostly because the delta between comfort and sport is much smaller than it was with the previous generations of 911s. There's a big difference between SC comfort and sport. Not so much with the Carreras.

'74-'80 sport seats are the best of all of them, imho.
Having owned a 67-S with sports seats and a 73-S with that generation, comparing them to my 80SC sport seats is night and day.
You are hugged bottom and sides. After '80, the lower bolsters retreated in size and hug-ability.
. Ingress/Egress took front and center.
The '74-'80 seats do bring a premium. '76-'79 US Turbo owners seek them out. A corduroy pair seen here.
