79sc with an andial 3.2 stroker Project

Hi,

I recently acquired a 1979 sc with an Andial 3.2 stroker. very excited about the car, but it does need some work to make it awesome.

Based on the paper work. By 1990 car had 210,000 miles and at that point the car went through a restoration and engine rebuilt.

The engine was fully documented, and all receipts stated that The original engine was bored and stroked from the standard 3.0L to 3.2 liters. ANDIAL Racing added an additional spark plug for each cylinder and increased compression, camshaft profiling and tuning. The result was an engine that is supposed to be as powerful as the 930 Turbo without any turbo lag. From what I was told it has a lightweight flywheel, forged piston and had the intake ported.

The car has 270k miles, added around 60k since rebuilt, some kind of upgraded clutch was installed in 2005.

Fast forward to present days. The car had stored for a while, only driven periodically to get the oil circulating. I drove it around town after acquiring it. The engine revs very happy, also drops very quickly in first gears. as a result, a lot of stalling.

If I hold the gear and roll to stop to let the rev drop slowly. The car will main the idle and idles very smoothly. No idle hunting at all.

I am not new to air cool. Had owned a 964 for 13 years. and worked, diy on every aspect of the car except the engine. Now this is much older car, I felt like the 964 was a luxury car in comparison in both the build and driving experience.

I hope to learn from the expert here to restore the car to a reliable daily driver.

First is the shifter. 915 gear box is a mess in comparison to the g50.

some pictures.
