79sc with an andial 3.2 stroker Project

Hi,

I recently acquired a 1979 sc with an Andial 3.2 stroker. very excited about the car, but it does need some work to make it awesome.

Based on the paper work. By 1990 car had 210,000 miles and at that point the car went through a restoration and engine rebuilt.

The engine was fully documented, and all receipts stated that The original engine was bored and stroked from the standard 3.0L to 3.2 liters. ANDIAL Racing added an additional spark plug for each cylinder and increased compression, camshaft profiling and tuning. The result was an engine that is supposed to be as powerful as the 930 Turbo without any turbo lag. From what I was told it has a lightweight flywheel, forged piston and had the intake ported.

The car has 270k miles, added around 60k since rebuilt, some kind of upgraded clutch was installed in 2005.

Fast forward to present days. The car had stored for a while, only driven periodically to get the oil circulating. I drove it around town after acquiring it. The engine revs very happy, also drops very quickly in first gears. as a result, a lot of stalling.

If I hold the gear and roll to stop to let the rev drop slowly. The car will main the idle and idles very smoothly. No idle hunting at all.

I am not new to air cool. Had owned a 964 for 13 years. and worked, diy on every aspect of the car except the engine. Now this is much older car, I felt like the 964 was a luxury car in comparison in both the build and driving experience.

I hope to learn from the expert here to restore the car to a reliable daily driver.

First is the shifter. 915 gear box is a mess in comparison to the g50.

some pictures.

Cool engine. I went from a 964 to a G also, and I think I like my 83 more. 915 takes some getting used to vs g50 (I had a 5 and later a 6 speed in mine) but feels more rewarding when you get it right

how did you tighten the car more. MY 964 had 18in wheels and modern tires, upgrade suspension. it was dialed in. The SC is very loose in comparison.

Where should I start to tighten the car more.

I have to say the manual steering rack is great.

front turn signals and marker lights

My car has the right side air duct replaced the right side marker.

1. turn signals and hazard don't blink
turn on turn signal either side, or hazard
The flasher is clicking extremely fast. My front two signals lights not getting any power. confirm with multi meter. But the left side marker seems flashing extremely fast.

2. turn on parking light. front left turn signal turns on (not flashing, stays on). right side turn signal light no power.

To clarify, the front turn signals are the lights facing the front correct?

Could this be a wrong wiring done when previous owner installed the duct scope?
