In 1960’s Chicago, “Polish Chrome” was leftover silver chain link fence paint used on rusted car bumpers, also used to paint steel wheels used in the stock car race circuit.

They never raced with polished or chrome wheels. It may have been polished by Don Leatherwood, who worked in the Race shop back then, still waiting to hear back from him.
I own a couple of pairs of Fuchs that were used on the Brumos race cars.
