Great Forum, I've been following you guys for the last few months since buying my first 914! Now, I could use some of your help...
I just picked up a working VPC A/C package from someone parting their car. I've serached the forums here and at
www.914club.com and have not been able to find any clear direction on installing this. I've found lots of individual details though on this or that, but not that comprehensive. The wiring diagram that's posted looks great.
Does anyone have the dealer install instructions or a link on the web I could look to? For real, I have searched everywehre, have come up with nothing and was hoping to find someone that has done this before that coudl point out a few of the pitfalls and layout some good pointers. The last thing I want to do is cut a hole too big or in the wrong place to run everything.
What I have is: Pulley, Compressor mount plate, compressor, drier, hoses (planning on replacing with Barrier hoses, but from where?), wires, underdash unit with fan and wiring and condensor unit with grille. Am I missing anything?
Sorry if this has already been covered, but I have not been able to find it. Any help is much appreciated as I am new to the 914 and want to preserve it's originality as much as possible (and ensure pleasurable summer driving in the South).
