The position where the clutch begins to engage on my S is also near the end of the lever travel (this is independent of the lever position adjustment dial). I think that's what Jeff was referring too(?). As the clutch wears, less ’pull’, or lever travel, is needed to disengage the clutch. Myself, I prefer the adjustability of the cable activated setup of my prior Oilhead. With an 1/8 of an inch of free play when the lever was out on the RS, I always knew my clutch was fully engaged. It doesn’t feel that way on the S. I suspect it's the characteristic of the hydraulic activated clutch.
