I'm relocating to Denver this weekend, got the official word from work on Monday. Only one week notice but that is no problem because I have no wife, no kids, am a former Army brat, and I like to ski.

I'll be working near I 70 and 270 in the northern part of the city. I need to find an apartment but I don't know much about Denver or traffic. Here's what I need......I want to live within 20 minutes from work but I don't want to be in the 'hood.

Through, rent.com and apartments.com, I've printed some leads on apartments in the area. Westminster, Thornton and Aurora seem to be the location of the bulk of these apartments. I'm going to live in a hotel for a week before I decide on an apartment and area.

Does anyone have any thoughts on these areas or Denver in general? Traffic? Can I drive my 944 in the winter? Bars?

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.
