Basically my motivation is to feel sure that when I step outside for work in the morning my car is where I left it. Audible alarms dont give me that warm & fuzzy feeling. A killswitch will leave me feeling a little better off.

I was thinking of a rear window wiper switch actually. So the connection is either 'on' or 'off'. Based on the setup you had, I can see the usefulness of a "hold down sunroof switch until ignition' setup. Although that would require 2 hands to operate if the switch was in the center console.
