Another "cup holder" option: I have an old bath towel that i shoved behind the passenger seat. Whenever you have a drink you can wedge it between the towel and the center divider thingie that runs through the middle of the car. a towel works great cause you can use it when you have a small bottle, or a big fountain drink. never had anything spill, its not too hard to reach while driving and doesnt cost anything.

Not only that, but when you park you can throw the towel on the dash/leather seats and slow the cracking
I keep 3 towels in my car lol
