Hey Steve, its been a go for many months and its getting better because the word is going out more freely. I plan on having mine by November and this is the word I have recieved. Chris would have inside track to these plans and it great you heard it from a BMW person, high ranking or not. Long live the S twin, especially if it has brakes like the new K.
120 HP at the crank would yield about 108 at the rear wheel. As a rule of thumb think in terms of 105 (or slightly more) peak HP and 82 foot pounds of torque at the rear wheel.
Can we hardly wait? No.
