I’m glad it turned out OK.

This is one (of many) issue that the DIY person faces. The wonderful aspect of this Forum is to reproduce those issues and when they occur, solve them.

A trained, skilled and experienced shop mechanic has experience and has solved these and many other problems over the years. This is why they are worth a “shop rate.”

On the other hand, this Forum provides some of that experience for free. The trade-off is to reciprocate with your detailed experience. Everyone benefits, even the shops.

I will speculate there are very few current Porsche technicians who have tuned a 356 4-cam Carrera. The goal is to pass along that information. And MFI and CIS and DME and Motronic, and ….

Without that continuum of information flow, Porsche will cease to exist. PAG seems marginally inclined to support their legacy.
