Hi Michael,
I think you need to remove the targa bar headliner. I did that once since mine wasn't staying up. (it stays up now!) It's pretty simple but you have to take off the seatbelts and some trim pieces on either side. The headliner is held up by brackets that point forward, I think, so you get it off with a forward motion. It's a little tricky getting it back on since there are a lot of those brackets. Good luck!
