Your points are well taken. I think I have an elevated "first rock chip fear". I love having a toy car, I guess I'm just wondering if a toy should be more exotic than a 914. I like being different than the norm (and you almost never see any 914's in Colorado)but when the base model kits (unassembled) can be had for around 10k, and the end result is a 550, or the Ferris Beuler Ferrari, it makes it tempting. My car was definiately not a wreck when I purchased it, but it has come a long way. I guess when you build something and the only thing left to do is to start wearing it out again it gets frustrating. Thanks for the words,Scott.
