The "E" was and is a wonderful car, but it is a very high miles car and I would, without question, have the car checked out by a Porsche mechanic. Base the validity of the price on what the mechanic says is wrong with the car and what the repair price will be. The cost, after repairs, might not be worth the total dollars spent.
BTW, early cars using Mobil 1 usually end up with oil leaks due to the sythetic oils ability to wreak havoc on the engine seals.
