I'm pretty connected to news that relates to the economy, markets, world events, etc. It's for the job. Sometimes I will see a news story and have this weird feeling of deja vu because I heard about it the previous day. It can feel like I live 1 day in the future. Here's for weird, I used to get up every night at midnight to read the next day's Wall Street Journal online.
But I have little idea what is going on locally. I kind of wish I knew but I'm too tired to absorb it, plus the local paper is so bad I can't stand to read it.
As far as news sources, I don't watch TV news, unless something huge is going on, so don't think I've watched TV news since the invasion fo Iraq. There is some good TV news - BBC for example - but the signal to noise ratio is too low. I read WSJ, NY Times, sometimes Washington Post, Economist magazine, various internet sources (Google News is great, also some blogs), and the market-specific sources.
