OK guys thanks so if I understand it. There is no US version of a Carrera in 1976 only ROW. If someone has a Carrera here it was an import or home built. The ROW had 2.7 MFI and a 3.0 CIS and a regular 911 here had the 2.7 CIS. Is there a way of telling a 2.7 case from a 3.0 case visually or do you need to use the engine numbers? Thanks for any help.

The 2.7 has a mg. case w/ 911 part #(901 casting # is what is visable on the side of the case), the 3.0 has an al. case w/ 930 part#(and a 930. casting #)
At least most 2.7 had a mg. case there were a very, very few al. case 2.7
