Since you're in California, keep in mind that unless you buy a 73 or older 911, you're going to have to get it smogged, which (I believe) pretty much rules out the kinds of mods you're talking about. Somebody correct me if S.o.K.'s supercharger setups are CARB approved. I know TPC has talked about getting the approval, but I don't think they've done it.
But you're doing the purchase the right way -- research first, then buy.
If you feel you might be at all susceptible to tracking the car (and once you've done it, it's a little like crack cocaine), then also consider your mods in relation to that. Supercharging hits a dead end under protracted use, unless you've done significant work to strengthen the engine (or started with a Turbo case).
