It fits, somewhat. There is more massaging that has to be done to the engine compartment than with the SBC, due to the distributor location. There may be a couple of other issues as well; I remember there being reasons that Ford V8s were never swapped in (or just about never). The SBC is a very well-known swap; all of the issues have been discovered and solutions are only a few phone calls and a bunch of money away. (Or investigation and making your own solutions.)
