Back On The Road Again
WELL ITS OFFICAL, I JUST FINISHED THE OIL COOLER RELOCATION ON MY 87 SLANT NOSE CONVERSION. WHEN
PURCHASED IT WAS BEHIND THE LEFT REAR WHEEL AND NOW ITS IN THE RIGHT REAR BRAKE DUCT. I HAVE ADDED AN AFTERMARKET OIL COOLER FAN AND INSTALLED A MANUAL
OFF/ON SWITCH. I ALSO CONVERTED FROM THE FIBERGLASS
FRONT AND REAR BUMPERS BACK TO STOCK PORSCHE
METAL COMPONENTS. ANYWAY ALMOST DONE EXCEPT FOR CUTTING THE BRAKE STRAKES SO THE FIT BACK INTO THE BRAKE DUCT OPENING. COULDN,T WAIT SO SUNDAY ASKED THE MRS.
IF SHE WOULD LIKE TO TAKE A RIDE IN THE CAR SHE SAID
WOULD NEVER RUN AGAIN, SHE REPLIES IN THE AFIRMATIVE AND I GO OUT TO DOUBLE CHECK ALL OF THE WORK I,VE PREFORMED

AND NO LEAKS, WHEELS ON AND ALL LUGS AT 96ft lbs, TOP SHOCK MOUNTS TIGHT, BATTERY CHARGED, AND GIVE ALL THE BODY WORK A SHAKE TO MAKE SURE I TIGHTENED ALL THE FASTNERS AND JUST THEN THE MRS. EMERGES INTO MY GARAGE
AND ANNOUNCES IS IT "ALL" DONE AND HAVE I CHECKED
"EVERYTHING" I GIVE HER MY ASSURANCE THE BEAST IS READY
FOR THE RIDE. I START IT UP AND BACK IT OUT, WATCHING FOR ANY SIGN OF ANOMALLY. PERFECT!! I LOAD HER UP AND BACK OUT OF THE DRIVE, DOWN THE STREET AND ONTO THE MAIN ROAD WHERE THE SPEED LIMIT IS 55 AND TAKE HER GENTLY
UP TO SPEED. THEN TURN RIGHT AND HEAD UP TO THE MAIN
ARTERY HIGHWAY 54 AND TURN LEFT AND START ACCELERATING UP TO THE POSTED 60MPH WHEN "WHAM" THE CONVERTABLE
TOP DECIDES TO GO DOWN BY ITSELF IN LESS THAN A MILISECOND TAKEING MY BETTER HALFS 45 MINUTES OF HAIR
STYLEING AND MY TOUGHTS OF A ROMANTIC EVENING WITH IT.
ANYONE ELSE EVER FORGOT TO CHECK THE TOP HOLD DOWNS??
