Yup, it's shared with the 911. I don't know the years, but if it looks like the stock 914 wheel then the button fits correctly. (The wheel, I'm told, does not--but I don't know for sure.) Something like 69-77 for the years, I think.

Get a brand-new rubber "boot"--the spring/bellows that goes between the button and the rest of the wheel. Check the button for the tab on the back where the horn wire connects. If it is broken off, be prepared to solder a new tab on--silver solder has worked very well for me on that particular connection.

I agree with your wife. I won't drive a car as small as a 914 (or my other car, a CRX!) without a working horn. Too many other drivers who don't bother looking when they get behind the wheel... SUVs are just the ones that can do the most damage.
