One of the tricks to do this is to insert one end of the glass/seal ass'y on to the lip and make sure you shove it all the way down. Another is to have another person that can keep pressure from the outside as you rope it in. On the windshields, we start by shoving the big end down, but I assume I'd shove the rear down and rope the rear glass towards the top. As you rope, it tends to pull the glass away from the initial set, so you have to constantly work it back down as you go. This makes the top pull in much easier. I guess it can be done in either direction.

Having a suction cup really helps. I couldn't have done my windshield by myself w/o one.
