Easy to do... next time you do a valve check, pull them off, wash them very well with soapy water, dry them very well, lightly sand them just enough to take the shine off, spray them with primer (this is a key I have learned), then spray them with shiny black engine enamel.

I did this a few months ago and they have held up perfectly for the 7000 miles since then. I think they look really good that way and I have had numerous riders, both of BMW and other makes, comment on the really sleek look it gives.

Of course my bike is black too, so it gives it all a bit more of a stealthy look. I painted the starter motor cover the same way too.
