Unhappy Matching valve covers/cylinder paint

Hi all! This is my first post hope someone can help. I pulled a bone head move the other day. I lightly clipped a concrete bench with one of my R's cylinder heads. Which resulted in a small nick about the size of a dime on the valve cover. I remember seeing a post somewhere that there is a wheel spray paint available that matched almost perfectly. Does anyone know where I can find some paint for touch-up?

Thanks,
Motomex

Paint 'em both black. Much nicer.

Thanks Mark! I believe I have seen this done before and thought that I did like the color scheme. I believe that the new GS 1150, the one with the knobby tires and black anodized rims and Huge silver tank, has black valve covers, if I'm not mistaken. Come to think of it, I have been thinking about getting my wheels powder-coated black. I will consider this...

Easy to do... next time you do a valve check, pull them off, wash them very well with soapy water, dry them very well, lightly sand them just enough to take the shine off, spray them with primer (this is a key I have learned), then spray them with shiny black engine enamel.

I did this a few months ago and they have held up perfectly for the 7000 miles since then. I think they look really good that way and I have had numerous riders, both of BMW and other makes, comment on the really sleek look it gives.

Of course my bike is black too, so it gives it all a bit more of a stealthy look. I painted the starter motor cover the same way too.

Good luck,

Mark

Yep, black looks the best IMHO.

Check out the images people have posted of their bikes and you'll see a few with blacked out covers.
