On my netgear router you go to
http://www.routerlogin.net/start.htm It then asks for a user and password. If you don't remember you hold the reset button in and it goes to default (but you have to know what that is also). After you get in there you set up the Wi-Fi encryption and the key.
The Wii just asks which network and what the key is.
