Wireless network help needed...

I have a wireless network router in my house I set up years ago. THIS computer is just plugged into the back. My desktop downstairs has a wirelss card and can connect. I am trying to hook up the wii. I cannot remember the password or whatever I need to hook up the wii to the network. I thought I could figure it out from the downstairs machine, but I can't how can I figure this out?

I have the MAC address taped to the bottom of the wireless router, but I'm unsure if that's it or the cable modem that really supplies the Internet.

I have a number like "99.86.22.c4.84" that I have mentally associated with the wireless router, but typing that into the wii doesn't work. Do you know how to access the setup inside the wireless router?

Go to default gateway address in your browser which is usually 192.168.1.1 and enter the login info.

If that isn't it. In Windows XP click on Run, type in CMD and enter. In the DOS window type in IPCONFIG and you'll get your default gateway address there.

Good luck.

On my netgear router you go to http://www.routerlogin.net/start.htm It then asks for a user and password. If you don't remember you hold the reset button in and it goes to default (but you have to know what that is also). After you get in there you set up the Wi-Fi encryption and the key.

The Wii just asks which network and what the key is.

I turned the encryption off and was able to connect with the wii. I lost the connection with basement computer, but that may be more a function of the bad connection I had down there. I need to look into it further. I couldn't connect with the wii and encryption on, even though I changed the password. wth?
