The cone air filter system that came with the car when I bought it was mounted really bad and was almost hanging down into the alternator belt. The breather line for the timing belt cover was gone and clogged with gunk. The cone filter and AFM (cover was missing and exposed to the elements) was kept up by a long bolt that they had mounted thru the wheel well. A total hack job to be sure. This is why I decided to remove it all and replace with the stock airbox setup I purchased on ebay.
I am in way over my head on this car. The interior was completely missing (headliner, carpet, everything) but I almost have that reinstalled after collecting parts for months. The car at least runs and shifts ok but still lots left to do. sigh.
