The only way to make it easier to work on is to make sure you can get to the charge air cooler mounting bolts. The connecting hose is just that, for connection purposes only (and vibration control).
Even with the wire reinforced type they are designed only to bridge short gaps. And they will blow up like a baloon so torque the clamps to specs (use the right clamps also)
