Our cars are plagued with vacuum issues. Seems as though everthing back in the day was deisigned to be controlled by it. Just one of the many gremlins you'll be chasing. Lot's of old vac lines and tore diaphrams. Although most everyone has these issues so shouldn't be too hard to locate your specific issue.
