This is for my '68 Crewcab w/3.2, 5 speed and a bunch of other stuff. I wanted to fit 8" fuchs in the rear to work with a disk brake conversion I did a few years back. Some folks use 944 trailing arm assemblies, (I have a aluminum pair I will be listing for sale). The dimensions given to me by 924racr closely match the stock type 2 stub axles dimensions and would probably work. I wanted to retain the type 2 trailing arms. The problem is the 944 hub projects out further than my current setup, modified type 2 hub, audi disk, Wilwood caliper.
I ended up using a 5/8" 112 to 130 adapter for the rear. For the front I modified a 912 hub to fit the bus spindle. With some gentle rear fender massaging I got the 8x17 3 pc Fuchs w/245/35/17 to fit. Also fitted to the front temporarily. Thanks for the help.
