I don't think the fact that the SC cab was only made in one year, or that it was the first year for the cab, gives it any added "collectability value" whatsoever.

I don't think anyone really cares. The e-bay seller is a good example, he touts his SC cab as a "first year cab" yet has swapped the SC badge for a Carrera badge. So much for "SC cab" pride.

Of course, if they made the SC cab in '83 and then discontinued the cab body style from '84 onwards, that would be a different story. But of course that is not what happened.

An 84 Carrera cab will always be worth a little more than an '83 SC cab, condition of the cars being equal, IMO.

(An '84 Carrera should also have some collectability value - it was the first year of the 3.2 engine, right?)
