Clunking noise driving me crazy cant find it
OK i thought it was the front wheel bearing which was loose and the inside one was scored a little bit, but that wasn't it. Then maybe bad CV joint jacked car up one side at a time and rotated and shook the rear wheels nothing, then crawled under( this with it jacked up on a screw jack since i am out of town). They are all very tight. Maybe the trans, was a little low on fluid. Topped it off. I am thinking possibly a rear wheel bearing? It is quiet for about the first couple miles then starts clunking and gets progressively louder. The clunks match wheel speed and are very loud and then occasionally just goes away. there also appears to be wheel vibration from the real associated with the clunking. Sound like a rear wheel bearing?
